About Mike
I’m Mike. I hold a private pilot certificate and have logged around 300 hours, almost all of them in Cessna 152s and 172s rented from the local flight school. Between flights I keep a flight tracker open on a second screen, listen to approach control while I work and fly the same routes again on a home simulator.
From discovery flight to checkride
My first lesson was a discovery flight bought as a birthday present. The private certificate took longer and cost more than the brochure said: more hours than the FAA minimum, a rental rate that went up twice, and an examiner fee nobody mentioned on day one.
Tools I use every week
An EFB on an iPad, aviation weather sites before every flight, a digital logbook, two flight trackers and a camera with a long lens for weekend spotting. I pay for some of them and stick to the free tier of others.
Not a CFI, not a vendor
I’m not a flight instructor and I don’t sell apps, courses or flight time. For corrections, questions or partnership proposals: contact@best-aviation-sites.com.
